Mother & Daddy

Roy & Cora Warren ... not sure of the exact date but the building in the background was a packhouse that was blown down during Hurricane Hazel that came through in 1954.

This is a picture of mother (the short one, she only stood 4'11") and one of her college friends (name on back of the picture says Mabel Walker) It was made at the college in Ayden, NC circa 1920 Mother spoke often of her school days. Those memories were spoken of with much fondness. I just wish I could remember all the stories she told me and the people she told me about. Incidently, I have met a couple of them since I have been living in Duplin County. One is a retired preacher who lived in Clinton, NC.

My Daddy as a young man

Roy Roosevelt Warren ... son of Major John Warren & Rosa Mae Willis Warren. I don't know the date of this picture, but he was born in 1910 and I'm guessing this probably was in he was in his late 20's or early 30's.

Daddy is an heir of Alexander Stewart, who was a pastor at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath NC which is the oldest church in N.C.
